Including relevant keywords in your page titles is a fundamental SEO best practice. The page title, also referred to as the title tag, is a crucial element that appears in search engine results and browser tabs. It serves as a brief yet impactful description of a page’s content. By incorporating your primary keyword near the beginning of the title, you can boost the page’s relevance for that term, potentially improving its search engine rankings and increasing click-through rates from search results.

Implementation Guide

  • Download Screaming Frog SEO Spider: First, install the free Screaming Frog tool, a powerful application for auditing website SEO.
  • Crawl Your Shopify Store: Input your Shopify store’s URL into the tool and start the crawl to analyze your site’s pages and products.

  • Analyse the Page Titles:
    Once the crawl is complete, go to the ‘Page Titles’ tab. This section will display all the page titles, along with their lengths and other key properties.

  • Identify Missing or Poorly Optimized Titles:
    Review the list of page titles. Look for titles that:
    • Are missing the primary keyword,
    • Are excessively long,
    • Are keyword-stuffed,
    • Or are otherwise poorly optimized.
  • Export the List:
    For a more detailed analysis, export this data into a spreadsheet to track and manage the necessary updates.

Fixing the Issue

  • Log Into Your Shopify Admin: Access your Shopify admin dashboard and go to “Online Store” > “Pages” for standard pages or “Products” for product pages.
  • Edit Your Page or Product Titles: Select the pages or products you need to update. In the title field, ensure that your primary keyword is placed towards the beginning of the title. Make sure the title is clear, descriptive, concise, and free of keyword stuffing.

  • Re-validate Your Titles:
